Romani communities protest across Greece

An outburst of anger was caused by a police officer’s gunshot, which seriously wounded a 16-year-old gypsy, who left the gas station without paying for fuel. Gypsies protest against police brutality in Thessaloniki, Attica, Corinth and other parts of Greece.

After today’s tension outside the Thessaloniki courthouse, in which the police beat the young man’s father without hesitationwho, together with a group of fellow tribesmen armed with wooden batons, attacked the police.

Difficult situation on Pontou Street, in Kalochori, west of Thessaloniki, where residents were set on fire by agricultural vehicles on the road. A large group of MAT special forces is at the scene.

Today at noon, the gypsies set fire to the garbage cans on Mesogeion Avenue near Nomizmatokopiowhere tensions arose when the crowd threw stones at the members of the OPKE anti-terrorist group who were present at the scene, as well as a fire brigade car that rushed to put out the fire.

Like us previously reported, a 16-year-old teenager left the gas station without paying 20 euros for fuel. The police officers who were at the gas station, in violation of instructions, opened fire on the thief’s car, seriously injuring a teenager.
