How to cleanse your body in a few hours

Probably every adult knows how easy it is to overdo it in the evening when you are drinking or dining out.

So when we go by the concept of “oh well!”, whether it’s another glass of wine or another handful of chips followed by three, four or five more, we wake up the next morning with a very unpleasant sensation throughout our body and a sore head. It becomes clear that the body urgently requires detoxification. And how to do this? Clinical nutritionist Sam Franceschini shared his expert opinion and advice.

Franceschini admitted that a little green juice “won't do the trick.” “You've probably heard this before, but some of the best (and easiest) ways fast detoxification include a good night's sleep and a large glass of water with lemon in the morning.” Sleep is critical to getting your body back to normal, the nutritionist insists, so getting more than average hours of rest is one of the best ways to reset.

And a big glass of water with lemon juice! This is extremely important. Squeeze fresh lemon into a large glass of warm or room temperature water and drink in the morning. Avoid ice water and any cold drinks, especially during meals, as they will only harm your digestion.

After a night's rest, it is important to replenish the body with nutrientsthat you lose due to drinking alcohol. “One of the organs that is most stressed when you drink is the liver. When you replenish certain vital nutrients, you can avoid hangovers and detox at the same time,” Franceschini said. You can drink some electrolyte drinksbut he advises avoiding drinks like Gatorade because while they are a popular hangover cure, they contain a number of additional ingredients that can slow down your body's recovery time.

Additionally, the first thing you should avoid while detoxing is processed foods, especially processed sugars. Foods like broccoli, cauliflower and leafy greens should become your new “best friends.”
