The police detained two people for a firebomb planted at dawn today at the entrance to the Foundation for National and Religious Problems at 37 Muson Street in Thessaloniki.
According to the Greek police, a 22-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both Greek citizens, have been arrested.
The arrests were made by the Criminal Investigation Sub-Directorate for Crimes of Violence in Northern Greece, while the case continues to be investigated.
The explosion of an improvised incendiary device early Tuesday morning started a fire and caused significant damage, which, fortunately, was limited to the entrance to the building.
The building that houses the foundation, known as Melatron Anastasiou, Iulias Billis, was built in 1898 and is an architectural treasure of the Ano Polis area of Thessaloniki.
