A 36-year-old woman living in the Exarchia area experienced a nightmare night when two Somali bandits broke into her apartment, robbed her and tried to rape her.
After a violent reaction from the woman, who began screaming loudly and calling for help, the robbers apparently got scared and ran away.
Two foreigners first tried to enter a residential building on Rethymnon Street in Exarchia, and then entered the apartment of a 36-year-old woman through a balcony. The next minutes became a nightmare for the victim. One of the bandits, distinguished by his aggressive behavior, tried to rape her.
While one of the young Somalis was looking for money in the apartment, his accomplice, holding the girl motionless on the bed, threatening her with a knife, tried to sexually assault her.
The 36-year-old woman screamed loudly, which prevented sexual assault.
The robbers stole 1,050 euros, jewelry, watches and the girl’s handbag and fled with the stolen items.
“I slept with the light on in the room and recognized both criminals in the photographs that the police showed me.”says the victim.
According to the police, the Exarchia security service has arrested one of the criminals and is looking for his accomplice.

On the night of last Sunday, March 10, employees EL.AS. managed to find a 20-year-old Somali in the Agios Panteleimon area. He reacted to the police trying to check on him and ran away, after which he was chased until the police were able to arrest him.
In his testimony, the 20-year-old Somali man identified an 18-year-old man as his accomplice, who was later identified by the 36-year-old woman when police showed her his photo.
The 20-year-old was brought before the prosecutor yesterday and is expected to appear before an investigating judge tomorrow. An arrest warrant is pending for the 18-year-old.
A case has been filed against both for attempted aggravated rape, aggravated robbery, and the 20-year-old for disobeying the police.
