OAED: The number of unemployed decreased by 5% in January 2022

The statistics of registered unemployed in January 2022 was published by the Labor Employment Organization OAED.

The total number of registered unemployed, based on job search criteria (applicants), for January 2022 amounted to 1,103,901 people. Of these, 572,900 (51.90%) are registered with the OAED registry for a period of 12 months or more, and 531,001 (48.10%) are registered with the OAED registry for a period of less than 12 months. Men make up 402,647 people (36.47%) and women make up 701,254 people (63.53%), writes iefimerida.gr.

The total number of registered other citizens (not applicants) for January 2022 was 8650 people. Men make up 3192 people (36.90%) and women make up 5458 people (63.10%).

The total number of subsidized unemployed1 as of January 2022 (relative to the number of recipients of benefits in the corresponding month) is 212,800 people, of which 105,661 (49.65%) are general and other categories of subsidized, and 107,139 (50.35%) – seasonal tourism professions. Men make up 91,383 people (42.94%) and women make up 121,417 people (57.06%).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 86,984 (40.88%) are employees of enterprises (offices, trade), 1,979 (0.93%) are builders, 107,139 (50.35%) are tourism workers (seasonal), 15,370 ( 7.22%) are seasonal other workers (agriculture), 1168 (0.55%) are teachers and 160 (0.08%) are people with other professions.
