The natural beauty of Samos and the possibility of access from Turkey were recently highlighted by the neighboring country's popular media in the context of the activation of an express tourist visa to the East Aegean islands.
The infotainment website alem.com.tr, in an article about the island, states that “Samos is one of the most impressive Greek islands with white beaches, green landscapes and historical beauty. The island is the birthplace of the philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras and is characterized as one of the most important cultural and scientific centers of antiquity.”
Reporters from CNN.Turk and the Milliyet newspaper visited the “Island of Pythagoras”, spoke about its extraordinary beauty and provided information on sea and air access from Turkish cities.
“Already thousands of tourists who arrived in Samos from the neighboring country immediately rushed to take advantage of the new opportunities to experience the travel experiences that our island offers. In this context, the Turkish market can contribute to the extension of the tourist season,” said the mayor of East Samos, Paris Papageorgiou.
“Samos has a multi-faceted tourism “product” that can satisfy the preferences of the Turkish traveler. The difference in the level of influx of foreign tourists to the island is now noticeable, following the activation of the Greek-Turkish agreement on a special tourist visa,” adds Vice Mayor of Western Samos Tourism Evangelos Marnesos.
