Fine if you drive… wearing a jacket or coat

Winter is here and people should be very careful while driving because… if they get cold and decide to wear a jacket or coat, then, according to the new traffic rules, will pay a large fine.

According to the second paragraph of Article 13 of the Traffic Regulations, The driver of the car is obliged to ensure complete freedom of movement of his limbsin order to be able to freely perform any maneuvers necessary for safe movement on a public road.

Although it is unclear exactly how drivers will achieve complete freedom of movement, since it does not say what kind of clothing we are allowed to wear while driving, it does mean that we should ride in clothes that do not restrict our movements and a thick coat or jacket. certainly do not fall into this category.

If we drive while wearing a jacket or coat, we are likely to be fined by the traffic police as part of a potential inspection, and if we get into an accident wearing restrictive clothing and it turns out that it contributed to the accident, then things get even more complicated.

The fine for violating the provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 13 of the Road Code is both monetary and administrative. The fine is 100 euros, and the driver’s license is confiscated on the spot for 30 days.

However, given the certain loyalty of the Greek police to violators, there is hope that this rather absurd (rather extortionist) clause of the traffic rules will be used extremely rarely, well, unless you have a personal conflict with a policeman.
