A plane flying from Glasgow (Scotland) to Antalya (Turkey) made an emergency landing at Thessaloniki Macedonia International Airport at 10:30 pm yesterday due to the aggressive behavior of a passenger allegedly intoxicated.
Two hours after the plane took off, the 61-year-old British woman began screaming and pushing crew members who intended to calm her down. The lady who started a drunken brawl ended up injuring herself by hitting her face on the seat. Despite the crew’s attempts to calm her down, she continued to behave aggressively. Seeing no other way out, the pilot, for safety reasons, requested flight control to make an emergency landing. The plane landed at Macedonia Airport in Thessaloniki.
The British woman was arrested by airport police and taken to the prosecutor’s office today to initiate criminal proceedings. She was accused of obstructing traffic, disorderly conduct on board an aircraft during a flight and disobeying the pilot’s orders.
During the preliminary investigation, the British woman refused to give any testimony or explanation for what happened, noting that “she will say everything in court.”
