housekeeper twice "cleaned out" master’s house


Greek police have arrested a 46-year-old housekeeper and her 27-year-old accomplice during an investigation into a theft in the Athens district of Marousi.

There have been two thefts in the last two months. A foreign woman worked in this house as a servant and managed to take out of it, with the help of a foreign accomplice, valuables, jewelry, clothes, a safe with money and bank checks.

On May 10, police found the woman at her home, where an accomplice was also located. During a search in the house, a part of the stolen property from the house in Marusya was found and returned to the owners, and the following were seized:

  • 2 home-made packages with a narcotic substance (probably Indian hemp) with a total weight of 3.6 grams;
  • air gun;
  • 4 knives;
  • 2 bicycles;
  • several wristwatches;
  • several sunglasses;
  • jewelry;
  • lighters;
  • clothes and bags.

During the investigation, the theft of a bicycle and a sum of money from a warehouse in Galatsi was revealed. The detainees were prosecuted for aggravated theft committed by two or more people who joined together to commit a crime, as well as episodic offenses related to violations of the law on weapons and drugs.

The arrested were taken to the prosecutor’s office of Athens, the investigation to establish the whereabouts of the owners of the rest of the stolen property continues.
