An 8-month-old girl was found dead in West Achaia, Peloponnese on Thursday morning. Authorities are looking for the mother, a 15-year-old girl who is reportedly deaf and has health issues.
According to the information obtained by the local website pelop.gr, the infant is found unconscious by the mother’s partner and grandfather at the family’s home in Sageika, where the gypsy settlement is located. The police were immediately informed about the dead baby and, according to preliminary information, do not consider the death to be the result of a crime. Relatives told authorities and the media that the baby suffered from heart problems and underwent surgery a few months ago.
Police are looking for a teenage mother who was missing when the child was found dead. According to local publication thebest.grmother is deaf and has a number of health problems. An autopsy should establish the exact cause of the child’s death.
This is the second death of an infant in the country in a few days after father forgot his 5.5 month old daughter in the car more than seven hours.
