Members "golden dawn" committed "raid" to an exhibition of an artist from North Macedonia

A group of the far-right Golden Dawn party on Wednesday afternoon raided an exhibition by North Macedonian artist Sergei Andreevsky in the Kalamaria district of Thessaloniki.

In hoods and with their faces covered, unknown people hung stickers on paintings and scattered leaflets with nationalist content, frightening the artist, his assistants and visitors to the exhibition.

With the help of his assistants, a frightened Andreevsky and his team rushed to dismantle the exhibition facilities and remove advertising posters, media reported.

In the uploaded video, ultra-rightists address the artist in English, accusing him of “Macedonian propaganda” and accusing the mayor of Kalamaria of “unacceptable tolerance.” They repeated the well-known slogan “Macedonia was, is and will be Greek”, despite the fact that the issue was settled by the Prespa Agreement under SYRIZA, and then under the governments of Mitsotakis.

According to a MEGA TV report, the police reported the incident on Thursday morning. No arrests were made. Local publication parallaximag.gr notes that it is strange that the police station is “one step away” from the exhibition site.

Interference with the prosecutor

By order of the Chief of the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance of Thessaloniki, an urgent preliminary investigation was launched in order to identify the perpetrators and bring them to the established criminal liability. The offenses being investigated are reported to involve “unlawful racially motivated violence, complicity and incitement to crime, violence or hostility”.

The investigation is entrusted to the Anti-Racist Violence Unit of the Thessaloniki Police Department. The materials posted by the criminals on the Internet will be searched for, and the organizers of the exhibition and everyone who knows about the incident will be invited to testify.

North Macedonia summons Greek ambassador

The North Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it had summoned the Greek ambassador to Skopje on Thursday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the northern neighbor of Greece expects security measures, as well as the identification and prosecution of those responsible.

Groups of the Golden Dawn

It should be noted that 14 leaders of the Golden Dawn party, including former members of the Greek parliament and a member of the European Parliament, were sent to prison under the article “For creating a criminal organization” after the murder of leftist rapper Pavlos Fyssas.

Militants of the “Golden Dawn” terrorized, beaten and maimed migrants. After the court’s guilty verdict, party units disappeared from the streets, but now they are back using a different “narrative”, the issue of Macedonia and thus in Macedonia, northern Greece, as the party’s former vice-president Ilias Kasidiaris takes part in this year’s parliamentary elections .

According to Athenian News sources, the belonging of the members of the Golden Dawn to the current incident is highly doubtful. The source of the publication considers it a provocation undertaken by the enemies of the party on the eve of a rather thorny decision to participate in the national elections. , perfectly understanding how this action can turn out for them.
