ELSTAT: Greek exports down 14.2% in February – "jump" 207.4% to Ukraine

According to ELSTAT, in February 2023, the value of Greek imports from Russia amounted to 336.9 million euros, which is 49.2% less than in February 2022, when it was 662.7 million euros. The value of Greek exports to Russia in February 2023 was €11.0 million, down 14.2% from €12.8 million in February 2022. The trade balance between Greece and Russia in February 2023 was negative at EUR 326.0 million.

In January-February 2023, the value of Greek imports from Russia amounted to 840.5 million euros, a decrease of 27.6% compared to 1,161.4 million euros in January-February 2022. The value of Greece’s exports to Russia in January-February 2023 amounted to 20.5 million euros, a decrease of 28.7% compared to 28.8 million euros in the same period of 2022. The trade balance between Greece and Russia in January-February 2023 was negative and amounted to EUR 820.0 million (deficit).

In 2022, 397 Greek enterprises imported from Russia and 404 Greek enterprises exported to Russia.

The total value of Greek imports from Russia in 2022 amounted to EUR 9,334.1 million, an increase of 117.0% compared to the corresponding figure in 2021, which amounted to EUR 4,302.4 million.

The total value of Greek exports to Russia in 2022 amounted to 156.4 million euros, which is 24.3% less than in 2021 (206.6 million euros).

The trade balance of Greece with Russia in 2022 was negative and amounted to 9177.7 million euros (deficit).

At the same time, a sharp increase in exports to Ukraine was recorded. In February 2023, the value of Greek imports from Ukraine amounted to 21.3 million euros, which is 15.2% less compared to February 2022, which amounted to 25.1 million euros. The value of Greek exports to Ukraine in February 2023 amounted to 24.0 million euros, an increase of 207.4% compared to 7.8 million euros in February 2022. The trade balance between Greece and Ukraine in February 2023 was positive and amounted to 2.7 million euros (surplus).

The trade balance between Greece and Ukraine in the period of January-February 2023 was positive and amounted to 66.9 million euros (surplus).
