European consumers, especially Greeks, have experienced a major “electric shock” as the price of electricity has risen to previously unimaginable levels due to sanctions against Russia.
However, if the inhabitants of Germany can easily pay a monthly electricity bill of 500 euros, since the average salary there is 2.5 times higher than in Greece, then for the average household in Hellas, with an income of 1200 euros per month, it will be a disaster.
In terms of income, Greece can only be compared with its economic counterpart in the south, Portugal or Spain. But electricity prices there are a third lower than in Greece!
