With Christmas approaching, a traditional treat appears on the table of the Greeks – melomakarona biscuits. In order not to reproach yourself for the extra pounds gained during the holidays, it is useful to know their calorie content.
We are gradually entering the festive period of Christmas. The first thing that comes to mind is the Christmas treats. At the top of the delicacy list is the delicious melo macaron.
Its calorie content is unstable, since there are many ingredients that affect it. In addition, some people make small cookies, while others prefer large ones, which ultimately affects the total amount of calories consumed (if we assume that we eat 1 piece of melodic pasta). And yet we will try to calculate.
How many calories are in a traditional treat?
1 cookie weighs about 35 grams. Thus, it has been calculated that it contains about 190 calories and 8 g of fat. However, there are some glazed treats that add even more calories to the culinary product.
Melomacarona is made from olive oil, not butter, and contains less saturated fat (compared to chocolate chip cookies), which are beneficial for the cardiovascular system.
Melomacarona also contains ingredients (olive oil, honey, nuts, cinnamon, orange) that are high in antioxidants. In addition, walnuts are rich in phytosterols, copper, manganese, phosphorus and vitamin E. Finally, melomakarona provides a sufficient amount of potassium and B vitamins.
The only downside to the Christmas treat is the large amount of sugar in the syrup. That is why it is better not to consume more than 2 pieces of chalk pasta a day.
