OAED Unemployment Card Renewal Period Changed

According to the decision of Spyros Protopsaltis, the unemployed card will need to be renewed within 20 days before its expiration. The extension is a prerequisite for the citizen to continue to remain in the register of the unemployed of the OAUU.

In accordance with the new decision of Mr. Protopsaltis, which will be in effect during the period of time determined by the Employment Agency, the renewal of the unemployed person’s card will take place within 20 calendar days before the scheduled expiration date of the card, including the expiration date.

Renewal methods (renewal of the unemployed person’s card):

a) through the agency’s electronic services using passwords;
b) through KEP (public service center) in the corresponding electronic application.

The new 20 calendar day deadline will begin to apply for unemployment cards expiring on July 1, 2021, which can now be renewed from June 12, 2021, that is, 20 calendar days before the scheduled expiration date.

OAED will inform the unemployed by email in the next period, while in the first period both renewal periods will be valid. That is, 20 days before the expiration of the unemployed person’s card and five days before and after the expiration of the card.

It is noted that OAED decided not to provide an option to renew the unemployed person’s card after its expiration date.
