Police arrested a 39-year-old man who walked out onto the balcony of his home in Evosmos, Thessaloniki at noon yesterday and started firing a carbine into the air.
Fortunately, aimless shots from the first floor of the house did not cause any damage to any of the passers-by. The Greek law enforcement authorities have opened a case against the offender for violations related to explosives and for violation of the Weapons Act.
During a search at the place of residence, as well as at a house in the Pontoraklia (Kilkis) area, officers of the Kilkis police department found: a shotgun with six cartridges, two pistols of 9 mm caliber and so on. In addition, G3, eight pistol cartridges, a military-style body armor, a portable radio with two batteries and an improvised incendiary explosive device with a fuse were found and confiscated.
