Sarigiannis’ Nightmare Forecast: We May See More Infections Next Week

On Monday (05.04), Professor Demosthenes Sarigiannis spoke out against the relaxation of protection measures and the opening of the retail trade, predicting even more new infections next week.

Demosthenes Sarigiannis, professor of environmental engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has once again set out to scare the Greeks with dire predictions about the peak of the third wave of the pandemic. Speaking with MEGA, Mr Sarigiannis did not hesitate to make a nightmarish prediction of even more cases next week. “This is a large number, and it is noticeably larger than we expected. This means that we have a greater spread, ”he said initially, commenting on today’s anti-record with 4340 new cases. Then, explaining that “at this stage it is extremely important to comply with all measures”, but also “to exercise restraint in the matter of opening,” stressed that he was categorically against the opening of retail next Monday (05.04). On the other hand, he believes that if you open something, then only lyceums. In conclusion, Mr. Sarigiannis stressed that “the country is not yet at the peak of the third wave of the pandemic, although next week we may see higher indicators.” Recall that today (March 30), a new anti-record was registered in our country – 4340 new cases of coronavirus per day.
