Messinia: Romanian robbers even stole… olive oil

In the afternoon, two Romanian robbers, who had chosen the Gargaliani area, arrived there when the owners and staff were absent from the houses and warehouses they had designated as “victims”.

However, the police tracked them down by reviewing footage captured by CCTV cameras.

As it turned out, in the first quarter of 2022, three thefts were committed by attackers aged 36 and 47 living in the area. In particular, on February 25, they entered a private house, and on March 7, they entered a warehouse in the “Χοχλαστή – Δερβίσι” Γαργαλιάνων area, from where they stole agricultural machinery, various tools, as well as olive oil with a total value of 3,500 euros.

In addition, from another warehouse, which they entered on March 13, in the Vromoneri area, agricultural machinery and tools worth 500 euros were stolen.

According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the police officers, three burglaries were solved. Thus, a criminal case was initiated against two foreigners.

The investigation is ongoing, as it is assumed that those arrested are involved in other similar crimes.
