With the latest increase, the minimum wage will exceed 800 euros per monthPrime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in an interview with SKAI television on Tuesday morning, in which he explained that the government is committed to combating the high cost of living by raising wages.
Mitsotakis said the high cost of living is now the main problem for Greek households, which the government is responding to by raising wages. The goal is for the average salary to reach 1,500 euros per month and the basic salary to 950 euros per month by 2027, he said. The Prime Minister noted that wages have already increased and this is a structural response in addition to other measures to reduce prices.
He noted that the latest measures have brought results in relation to detergents, infant formula and other products, and fines are levied for violations that must be paid.
The Prime Minister ruled out the possibility of Easter concessions and mentioned the start of daytime surgeries, which he said would be free, as well as infrastructure improvements and other measures aimed at improving health care.
PS If prices rise at this rate in Greece, in 3 years 1500 euros will be equivalent to today’s 750 euros. This is apparently what the Prime Minister is counting on.
