Four new supermarkets in Greece

The Hellenic Supermarket Association (ESE) continues its development path by increasing its membership with the addition of four new retail chains.

As it became known, four supermarket chains – ΣΥΝ.ΚΑ, ΑΝΔΡΙΚΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ, ΓΟΥΝΤΣΙΔΗΣ και ΑΦΟΙ ΠΑΝΑΓΙΩΤΟΠΟΥΛΟΙ – have joined as new members of the Union Greek supermarkets:

  • ΣΥΝ.ΚΑ KRITIS PE has a network of 38 stores in Crete, which currently employs more than 1,100 employees.
  • The ΑΝΔΡΙΚΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ chain serves the needs of consumers throughout the city of Patras, thanks to its network of 13 stores.
  • In addition, ΓΟΥΝΤΣΙΔΗΣ has 16 stores in Drama Prefecture.
  • The ΑΦΟΙ ΠΑΝΑΓΙΩΤΟΠΟΥΛΟΙ group, with its head office in Sparta, has 27 stores in the prefectures of Laconia, Messinia and Arcadia.

With the new addition, ESE further strengthens its institutional role, now counting 17 members – retail and wholesale food chains.

ESE CEO Apostolos Petalas said: “The Greek Supermarket Association and its members work closely with authorities and institutional bodies to promote excellence, innovation and healthy competition in the food and consumer goods retail sector. We are promoting this sector and, as a result, making our contribution to the development of the Greek economy. Through partnerships, we participate in the continuous improvement of the services and products offered to consumers. Continuous efforts to develop and improve are at the core of ESE, and the inclusion of new members represents an important step towards achieving this goal.”
