A 17-year-old basketball player of the Ukrainian national team was brutally killed in Germany, his friend is in intensive care. The tragedy was reported by the Kyiv Basketball Federation and the Ukrainian Basketball Federation:
“A terrible tragedy occurred in Düsseldorf – 17-year-old basketball player of the youth national teams of Ukraine Vladimir Ermakov tragically died. Volodya and his friend Artem Kozachenko played for the youth team “ART Giants” (U-19) from Düsseldorf. On the eve of the next match, young basketball players were attacked with knives on the street, simply because they are Ukrainians!”
In the Kyiv Basketball Federation toldthat the guy died as a result of an attack on the evening of Saturday, February 10. After an attack by unknown persons, Vladimir Ermakov died, doctors were unable to save him, and his friend Artem Kozachenko is in intensive care.
Ermakov played basketball and played in the children’s teams “Teyvaz” and “5T.EAM-DYUSSH-12” (born in 2006). As a member of the Ukrainian youth team (U-16), he competed at the 2022 European Championships in Bulgaria.
“The Kiev Basketball Federation and the entire Ukrainian basketball community express our deepest condolences to our colleagues Tatyana Gnatyuk and Gennady Ermakov in connection with the tragic death of their son. 17-year-old Vladimir Ermakov, who seemed to have his whole life ahead of him, was killed in Germany on Saturday evening “.
By information Sport.ua, the murder occurred at the Karneval Düsseldorf 2024 carnival, which runs from February 8 to 12.
