Ninety suspects have been arrested in connection with an armed attack on a courthouse in Istanbul yesterday, Tuesday 6 February.
The police investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office. Turkish authorities link the perpetrators of the attack and those arrested to the far-left armed group Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party Front (DHKP/C).

Yesterday at 11:46 local time, two armed men tried to get through the police checkpoint at the entrance to the courthouse. During the shootout, a citizen who was at the scene was killed, as well as the perpetrators of the attack – a man and a woman.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikay, they were members of the DHKP/C, an organization with a rich history of armed anti-government activities.
