Both minesweepers search for mines in the sea and carry out coastal patrols. The ships’ hulls are made of plastic, which facilitates mine-resistant operation. Sonars on board ships can detect an object the size of a soccer ball at a distance of 1,000 meters. This allows them to clear mines, allowing large ships to pass safely.
