The wife caught her husband watching her and sent him… to prison

A 38-year-old man from Larissa, who was arrested by police from his district department, is accused of violating personal data laws.

On January 2, 2024, the man’s case was transferred to the Deputy Prosecutor of the Plenary Court, who, according to the newspaper Eleftheria, ordered an additional preliminary investigation so that the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police could recover data from his mobile phone, which his wife smashed in anger.

He put the phone in the bathroom to record

The man, with the desire “not to lose his wife,” as he stated in justifying his position, will appear in court on charges of invasion of privacy and communication, as provided for in the Criminal Code, and this crime is punishable as minimum one year imprisonment.

As soon as she noticed the smartphone, she broke it

The man, reportedly due to a personal and family dispute, disregarding the consequences of the law, saw fit shortly before noon on December 31st to place his mobile phone in the bathroom of the house, hiding it in a laundry basket so that it would not be discovered, thus recording “private moments of your family members without their knowledge.”

According to the police, the wife, realizing her husband’s act, destroyed the smartphone. Becoming non-functional due to damage inflicted by his wife, it was, however, withdrawn EL.AS. to be sent for laboratory examination for the purpose of data recovery.

The wife stated that the husband’s mobile phone was placed in the bathroom, where it was activated to record video. While, according to the arrested husband, the mobile phone was indeed activated, but only to record sound in order, as explained, to check the validity of suspicions.

A man after a complaint against him was arrested on New Year’s Eve and released on the morning of January 2 by decision of the deputy prosecutor to order further preliminary investigation.
