A 73-year-old man in Kefalonia was seriously injured at home by robbers. He is in serious condition. Criminals aged 18 and 25 were arrested.
According to the police, the tragedy occurred in Agia Efimia. Having broken the window, the robbers of Albanian origin began the “operation”: the elder entered the house, beat the owner and stabbed him at least ten times. The man was wounded in the abdomen and shoulder blade. The younger one was monitoring the situation outside at this time.
Then the criminals fled, and the man managed to get out into the street. Covered in blood, he called for help and collapsed on the ground near the nearest house. The victim was taken to Argostoli Hospital, where he was urgently operated on. He was later taken by helicopter to the University Hospital of Ioannina. His health condition is extremely serious.
As a result of the police investigation, the criminals were identified and arrested yesterday afternoon in the Kefalonia area. These are citizens of Albania who do not have documents for legal stay in the country, writes CNN Greece.
The preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Argostoli Security Department in cooperation with the Sami Police Department. Those arrested will be taken to the Kefalonia Criminal Prosecutor’s Office.
