Shock: 62-year-old son lived with his dead mother

The neighbors’ worst fears were confirmed when police entered the apartment located on the first floor of the high-rise building and found the body of the deceased on the sofa under a blanket. According to the testimony of her 62-year-old son, he was confused when he realized that his mother had died. And I decided… not to tell anyone about it.

“Grief clouded my mind when I realized that she had died… I could not understand what to do,” were the first words of the man who lived in the same house with the body of the 88-year-old for at least 20 days mother. The man was taken to the local police station to get answers about what exactly happened.

The man allegedly looked after and took care of his mother; neighbors spoke of them as “a good and loving family.” They also described the woman as “golden and kind-hearted.”

The “beginning of the end” of the story was marked by the smell of a corpse. The neighbors became concerned because they had not seen the elderly woman for many days in a row. Their fears were reinforced by the strong stench emanating from the apartment. So they decided to report to the police. The police and the prosecutor arrived at the scene, knocked on the door and, when the son opened it, they saw a terrible sight, since the woman’s body was in the stage of decomposition.

Yesterday morning the body was taken to the Patras Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy to determine the cause of death of the old woman. The possibility of crime is excluded.
