Participants in the international Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in an atmosphere of heightened security measures, are preparing for the first semi-final.
How tells Euronews, musicians and performers from 37 countries are taking part in the competition, which starts tomorrow in Malmo, Sweden. Before the official opening of the event, participants traditionally walked along the turquoise carpet.
Security measures have been increased in Malmö. Among the media threats were cyberattacks, DoS attacks, civil disobedience and interception of television broadcasts. The Israeli delegation is under special protection. Earlier, Israel's National Security Council issued a warning that the travel of citizens of the Jewish state to Malmö may be unsafe.
Marina Satti will represent Greece at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, our publication previously reported. The 36-year-old singer's music is characterized by a combination of traditional Greek, Arabic, Balkan and Anatolian sounds with urban elements and rhythm.
