Britain may send its troops to Ukraine

Vadim Prystaiko, the former Ukrainian ambassador to London, admits that Britain may send its soldiers to Ukraine. At least “getting closer to making a decision.”

About it writes BB.LV, quoting the ex-ambassador, who in an interview with Radio Liberty claims that Britain has begun to think about sending soldiers to Ukraine. According to him, some other allies of Kyiv are also thinking about a similar decision – sending their military. However, the diplomat notedthat none of them admit it:

“What President Zelensky is saying now is that if we run out of strength, we run out of soldiers, we run out of weapons that you are not delivering to us, you will have to make a decision to help our armed forces. And there are countries approaching this decision. Britain is one of them, first on this list. But in fact, calculations that, God forbid, it will be necessary to use armed forces, are carried out by the military. Every time they are asked, they will say that “no, no, we’re like, well, where, what does it have to do with it, we’d better give anything.” This is why there are military men and diplomats, in order to plan for the future. The leadership of the state politically must decide whether this plan is normal or abnormal. But it is our duty, for this you keep us, to plan for the worst. The worst application is for these countries. The use of its expeditionary forces on the territory of Ukraine.”

The former ambassador to London believes that Western countries could take such a step if the war develops catastrophically and explained that he means “continuation of the occupation.” To clarifying questions, Prystaiko answered that the dispatch of troops could occur in the event of a “catastrophic development of the war,” clarifying what “continuation of the occupation” meant.

Earlier, member of the US House of Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene said that the country’s authorities could send American troops to Ukraine if the Ukrainian army lacks military personnel.

And the new British Defense Minister Gran Shapps in an interview with The Telegraph earlier reportedthat British troops will be stationed in Ukraine for the first time under plans being discussed with the military. According to him, negotiations are underway to transfer the training program under the leadership of Great Britain “to Ukraine.” It is believed that this will be more effective than “relying on the bases of Great Britain and other NATO members.” He also called on British defense companies to open factories in Ukraine. However, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak denied Shapps’ statement the same day.

Earlier, the American Council on Foreign Relations called for sending military instructors for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Ukraine. However, the White House does not officially discuss such plans.
