Ukrainians are arming themselves: 137 thousand permits to register weapons were issued in six months

Since June, when the weapons registry began functioning in Ukraine, Ukrainians have received 137,000 permits to register weapons.

At the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported: More than 149 thousand applications from citizens for various types of weapons permits were submitted in five and a half months, and police officers made more than 137 thousand decisions to grant the appropriate permits. The department noted that Ukrainians regularly contact the contact center with questions about obtaining services in the Unified Register of Weapons or to resolve problematic situations.

On June 23, 2023, the Unified Register of Weapons was launched in Ukraine.
