Angelina Jolie stayed in the Faidra presidential suite at the Olympic village of Aldemar in Scafidi Ilia while filming the film Maria.
The 110 square meter suite can accommodate up to four people and costs €3,000 per night. It has two spacious bedrooms, one with an office, a living room with a dining area and two luxurious marble bathrooms with a Jacuzzi. There is also a private pool and a balcony overlooking the sea.
The Hollywood star, however, also used the luxury hotel’s second presidential suite, as well as two smaller ones, since her two sons came to Greece with her.
In total, about 40 rooms at the famous resort were booked for the production of the film “Maria” about the life of opera diva Maria Callas.
Greek food drove Angelina Jolie crazy. The first evening she arrived at the hotel, she asked for traditional Greek food. Thus, the hotel restaurant “Marina” was personally opened especially for the diva and her sons. The three of them were the only visitors and during dinner they enjoyed the dishes of Greek cuisine.
The famous actress tried beans (fasolada) for the first time, and it was this dish that excited her the most. On other nights, she preferred to order food to her room, with the exception of pork, which she did not like.

In the morning, Angelina Jolie woke up at 05:00, ate a slice of black bread with avocado and poached eggs, and a little later went to the yacht “Christina O” by Aristotle Onassis, where most of the filming took place. She was extremely simple and polite with the hotel staff, and her demands were limited and quite reasonable.
