Vasilis Ballas, candidate for municipal councilor of Moschato-Tavros together with Andreas Efthymiou, died in a traffic accident on Saturday, reports newsbeast.gr.
While walking in Paleo Faliro on October 1, he was hit by a motorcycle. The 44-year-old lawyer is survived by his son. The mayor of Moschatos-Tavros wrote in his post:
“God marked you, guy… Vasilis, you left us too early and unfairly. There are no words, and our tears have dried up. Vasilis, we hardly knew you, but everyone loved you for your kindness and constant smile. You will be missed by your son, wife, all your loved ones and friends. Have a nice journey, Vasilis, together with your fellow candidates and the whole world, we say goodbye to you with the lines of the poet:
Και σκεφτείτε τον ως ζωντανό
στις καρδιές αυτών που άγγιξε…
γιατί τίποτα το αγαπημένο δεν χάνεται ποτέ
και αγαπήθηκε τόσο πολύ.”
