Shop owners in Thessaloniki were terrorized by a bandit who broke into retail outlets and robbed the cash register at gunpoint.
The criminal broke into shops with a pistol and sometimes with a knife or screwdriver in the Neapolis neighborhood of Sikeona (Νεάπολης Συκεών). We are talking about a 30-year-old foreigner of Albanian nationality who is alleged to have committed a total of 9 robberies between March and September 2023. According to police sources, he wanted for burglary, armed assault and drug trafficking.
The man usually committed crimes after midnight and arrived either on his father’s moped or his sister’s car. After the arrest of the foreigner, during a search of the house, 200 euros, stolen packages of tobacco products, a small amount of drugs, a knife that he used in various robberies, as well as clothes in which he was captured on a security camera during the next robbery were discovered and confiscated.
