Tragedy in the skies over France: an extreme skydiver’s head was cut off by an airplane wing (video)

Experienced skydiver Nicolas Gali, 40, jumped from a plane wearing a “wing suit” at an altitude of about 4 kilometers in the sky above the town of Bouloc in southern France.

How reports New York Post, the jump ended in tragedy. A few moments after him, 64-year-old pilot Alain sharply descended to the height at which the two extreme sportsmen were soaring in the air, the left wing of the single-engine Pilatus aircraft hit Gali and decapitated him.

The lifeless body landed in a field on an emergency parachute that opened after the collision. The pilot has been charged with manslaughter – the prosecutor’s office claims that it was his mistake that led to the death of Nicolas, who had 226 parachute jumps under his belt.

Alain represented himself in court. He said Nicolas Gali “did not follow the expected course.” The pilot noted: “This event was the tragedy of my life, but it’s not my fault.”

However, Alain admitted that he did not discuss the details of the jump with the skydivers before taking off. He lost sight of them and descended, despite the fact that “people in wing suits do not descend very quickly and can conflict with the plane.”

During the judicial investigation, it was revealed that Alain was flying with an invalid license after he violated restrictions due to an unspecified health condition.

Prosecutor Jeanne Regangon is asking for a suspended sentence of 12 months for the pilot, and also demands a fine of more than 10 thousand dollars be imposed on his employer. A verdict is expected in November.
