Explosion of a gas storage facility in Nagorno-Karabakh, on the Stepanakert-Askeran highway. There are casualties and wounded, many victims with burns were taken to medical facilities. The death toll is being determined. The wounded are transported to Armenia.
Tragedy happened on the evening of Monday, September 25, more than 200 people were injured, regional ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan said on the social network X. The exact number of deaths is unknown.
How reports The Armenian online publication 24news, citing the Ministry of Health, is connecting helicopters to the operation to send the wounded to Armenia. Gegham Stepanyan:
“The number of those injured as a result of the gas storage facility explosion exceeds 200. The condition of most of them is assessed as serious or extremely serious. The medical capabilities of Nagorno-Karabakh are not enough to save people’s lives. It is urgent to use air ambulance.”
