Finland: Socialist leader prosecuted for Nazi salutes and obscene photos

Shana Marin’s successor as leader of the Socialist Party of Finland, Andy Lindman, has sparked controversy over photographs from his past, one showing him naked holding a gun alongside other naked men, some of whom are giving a Nazi salute, and the other showing an unknown woman. leaned her face to his waist and makes him pleasant …

“The Ugly Past of Finnish Socialist Leaders”– comments Bild, recalling that Shana Marin, once the youngest prime minister in the world, also “burned out” on videos of parties, in which she, in particular, had sex with some singer.

In the case of 41-year-old Lindman, the “blow” was caused by photographs taken when he was 18 years old. In the first one, the new leader of the Finnish Socialists poses next to four other men. They are all dressed in “balaclavas” and a Santa Claus mask, two of them are holding weapons, and the other two are giving the Nazi salute.

Lindman himself, after posting photos on social media in early July, identified himself as one of the five young people, specifically the one pictured in the top left corner of the photo. “I’m the one holding the plastic gun” he told Italehti on July 5, explaining that it all happened at a classmates’ Christmas party as a “thank you” to all those who helped film the short film he was in.

And about the Nazi salutes, Lindman told the same newspaper that “They obviously went too far with this step. I have never been a supporter of Nazism and now I am not. But even so, I should not be with neo-Nazis because of my ideology.”

The second photo, which gave the 41-year-old politician a “headache,” shows Lindman at a party with a girl standing at waist height in front of him. Those who saw the photo accused him of misogyny, while others wondered if he was under the influence of drugs at that moment.

To this, Lindman assured that he had never used drugs, and stated that he was ashamed of the allegations of misogyny. “I can say that I’m not very proud of my behavior in many of the photos,” he added after the backlash.

Lindman said these photographs from 1999-2009, posted on one of the Internet forums and no longer available, “were not intended to be published.” As a result, he stated that a few years ago he asked the forum administrator to remove offensive footage, but he did it only after the scandal.
