Athens Flying Week: who is the pilot leading the US F-35 demonstration group


Three US Air Force F-35 fighters flew in the sky over the Greek capital during the day as part of Athens Flying Week 2023. The fighters flew over Athens for about 15 minutes at an altitude of 5,000 feet, forcing thousands of Athenians out onto their balconies to see who was making the deafening noise above their heads.

As part of the fabfije “Athens Flying Week”, the newest fifth-generation fighter F-35 Lightning II of the United States Air Force (USAF) arrived in Athens. A US Air Force F-35A Lightning II demonstration team arrived in Tanagra with a woman in the cockpit of a fighter. Experienced Major Kristin “BEO” Wolfe promises to dazzle audiences with her skill.

Major Christine “Beo” Wolfe is an F-35 demonstration team leader who followed in her father’s footsteps to join the Air Force and now puts on her own show in the cockpit of America’s most advanced fighter jet. As an experienced pilot with over 1,000 flight hours, Major Wolf has experience flying the T-6, T-38C, F-22A and F-35A aircraft.

In 2011, she enlisted in the Army and continued her pilot training and operational service in Texas, Florida, and Virginia. She currently serves with the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill AFB, Utah. As F-35 Demonstration Team Leader, Wolf leads a crew that demonstrates the unique capabilities of the US Air Force’s fifth-generation fighter.
