Guinness record: braid 173 cm long


The last time an American cut her hair was on February 9, 1990, and that is how she managed to get into the Guinness Book of Records.

58-year-old Tami Manis took a place in the Guinness Book of Records after officially becoming the owner of the longest hair in the world. The length of the “hair” is almost 173 cm. It is worth noting that Tami is in I last cut my hair 33 years ago.

“Many people only notice it when they turn around and see me from behind. They usually don’t realize how long my hair is until they see me from behind,” Manis says in a video released by Guinness World Records on Thursday 31 August.

“It was the eighties, and everyone had a “mane” on their head, a whole mop of hair,” the record holder adds, noting that she was first inspired to grow a mane after watching the video for Til Tuesday’s “Voices Carry”. “The girl had such magnificent hair. And I thought that maybe I will grow one too?! I really wanted to get such luxurious hair, ”said Manis.

“The first time I heard about Guinness World Records opening the hair category was from the internet,” said Tami, who videotaped her hair length and submitted her entry to the competition. The fact that she became the record holder among women with the longest braid, Tami first learned when she received an envelope with the results of the competition. “When I opened it and realized that I had won, I thought:“ This is amazing, ”the longest-haired woman in the world shares her joyful impressions.
