In vain, a woman tried to return to the Eutalos beach off the coast of Lesvos – an inflatable flamingo picked up by the wind carried her too far from the coast.
Noticing the panic of the bather, a man who was nearby tried to help her, but … to no avail. The Coast Guard came to the rescue.
The incident happened on August 15th. The LS-EL.AKT patrol boat and the FRONTEX boat immediately arrived at the scene, and on the shore the LS-EL.AKT patrol car was ready to provide first aid to the unlucky bather.
The FRONTEX ship delivered a frightened woman to the port of Mithimna, and a man who tried to help her to the beach. Both are in good health and have refused medical attention.
