British diplomacy calls for vigilance and warns of possible terrorist attacks in Sweden (video)

The UK Foreign Office warns of terrorist attacks in Sweden, emphasizing:

“At this time, you need to be vigilant, there is a very high probability that terrorists will try to carry out terrorist attacks in Sweden.” Citizens visiting this Scandinavian country should take into account the increased risk of terrorist attacks, which is associated with recent incidents of burning the Koran.

An updated fact sheet published on August 13 notes that the Swedish authorities managed to prevent the attacks and arrest the suspects.

In a statement documenting the updated directive from the British Foreign Office, Sweden’s National Security Adviser Henrik Landerholm confirmed an increased threat level to the country following the burning of copies of the Koran. The attack on the Swedish embassy in Iraq on July 19, the attempted attack on the Swedish embassy in Lebanon on August 9, and the attack on a Swedish consular officer in Turkey on August 1 support this assessment.

How writes CNN Greece, the US Embassy also warned in its latest travel bulletin in July that terrorist attacks were likely to take place in Sweden.

The Swedish authorities confirm that the level of terrorist danger in the country has increased, but, nevertheless, they sanctioned another action of migrants from Iraq in the center of Stockholm, where they again set fire to the pages of the holy book of Muslims.

In the capital of Sweden, another action was held with the burning of the Koran, organized by two Iraqi migrants. But their actions did not find support among passers-by who happened to be nearby. One of the dissatisfied, who tried to disrupt the action, was detained by the police.

“Sweden has gone from a ‘legitimate’ target for terrorist attacks as a Western country to a priority one. Over the summer, both the security police and the government have been reporting that we are now in a more serious security situation than we were six months ago.”

Swedish officials have repeatedly condemned the desecration of the Koran, while noting that the people of the country have a “constitutionally protected right to freedom of assembly and expression.”

Currently, informs TV channel Euronews, the Swedish authorities are considering the possibility of amending the legislation, which will prevent such actions of the demonstrators.
