Digital map: change is coming, who cares

Changes in the digital work card were discussed by the Minister of Labor and the delegation of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chamber President Yiannis Hadjitheodosiou raised a number of issues with Adonis Georgiadis on the digital card, aimed at developing businesses, which could boost employment, according to the statement. “As announced by the Minister, significant changes are expected to the Digital Card measure, as well as incentives for businesses to implement it. The goal is to fight bureaucracy and help businesses at a time when they are suffering from problems in the market,” the same statement said. .

After the meeting, the Minister of Labor said: “Today I had my first institutional meeting with the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The goal of our policy at the Ministry of Labor is that any changes we make at the legislative level must take into account the reduction of bureaucracy for enterprises, so that the system ERGANIS worked for the benefit of both employees and enterprises.”

For his part, EEA President Giannis Hadjitheodosiou said: “We discussed issues with the Minister regarding businesses and workers. We were pleased to hear about the new way of working with a digital card, which gives new impetus to an issue that really worries businesses and workers. I appreciate that in other proposals that we have made on the work of enterprises, we have found a minister who listens, and together we can find solutions to problems that concern entrepreneurship, so that enterprises can develop and the country can move forward.”

The digital card is currently being rolled out in banks, supermarkets and insurance companies. The leadership of the Ministry of Labor intends to immediately begin consultations on the bill, which is expected to be put to a vote in early September. One of the upcoming changes concerns retirees who continue to work. The 30% deduction from their pension is planned to be eliminated, and a certain percentage – perhaps 10% – of the remuneration they receive for their work is being considered.
