May Day strikes throughout Greece, operating hours of public transport are limited to the maximum (additions are being added)


Despite the postponement of the May Day holiday to Wednesday, May 7, ΓΣΕΕ, ΑΔΕΔΥ and ΠΑΜΕ have declared a general 24-hour strike today, May 1, and public transport is being grounded. A real test awaits the residents of the country.

Metro

Due to the participation of workers' unions in strike activities, the metro and electricity will operate with interruptions. According to STA.SY, Metro lines 1, 2 and 3 will operate from 09:30 to 16:30, and the tram from 09:00 to 21:00. Metro trains to and from the airport will run from 09:30 to 16:30. Before the work stops, the last trains will depart:

On metro line 1 (Piraeus – Kifissia)

  • from Kifissia and Piraeus at 16:35,
  • from Monastiraki to Kifissia at 16:51 and to Piraeus at 17:09,
  • from Omonia to Kifissia at 16:54 and to Piraeus at 17:07,
  • from Attica to Kifissia at 16:59 and to Piraeus at 17:02.

Metro lines 2 and 3

  • from Antoupoli to Elliniko at 16:13,
  • from Elliniko to Antoupoli at 16:09,
  • from the Municipal Theater to D. Placentias at 16:07,
  • from D. Plakentias to the Municipal Theater at 16:09,
  • from the Municipal Theater to the airport at 14:31,
  • from the airport to the Municipal Theater at 15:46.

Tram

On line 7 (ΚΑΛΑΜΑΚΙ – ΑΓΙΑ ΤΡΙΑΔΑ):

  • The first train will depart from KALAMAKA at 09:17, the last one at 19:41
  • The first train will depart from ΑΓΙΑ ΤΡΙΑΔΑ at 09:54, and the last one at 20:19.

On line 6 (ΣΥΝΤΑΓΜΑ – ΠΙΚΡΟΔΑΦΝΗ):

  • The first train will depart from PICRODAPHNE at 09:15, the last at 19:23
  • The first train will depart from SYNTAGMA at 10:05, and the last at 20:06.

Buses and trolleybuses

Workers ΟΑΣΑ join the strike. A decision was made to stop work from the beginning of the shift until 09:00 and from 21:00 until its end, that is, they will be on the line from 09:00 to 21:00. Trolleybuses will run at the same time, from 09:00 to 21:00.

Suburban trains

The railway workers declared a 24-hour strike. Hellenic Train announced that due to the strike called by Γ.Σ.Ε.Ε.on May 1, routes throughout the entire network will be suspended and changed, including Προαστιακού.

However, to best serve passengers, Hellenic Train will operate security personnel on the following routes:

  • On the Athens – Thessaloniki – Athens section: 52,53,56 and 57.
  • On the Larisa – Thessaloniki – Larisa section: 1591,1592,2593,2594,1597 and 1598.
  • On the section Piraeus – Chiato – Piraeus: 1300, 1305, 1318, 1323, 1326 and 2301.
  • On the section Piraeus – Airport – Piraeus: 1206,1207,1222,1223,1230 and 1231.
  • On the Athens – Chalkis – Athens section: 1532,1535,1550,1553,2530 and 2533.

The following bus routes will operate on the Kiato – Patra – Kiato section:

  • From Patras C15 (14:25) and C23 (18:25)
  • From Kiato C14 (16:05) and C24 (20:05).
