Greece, Turkey and Mallorca (Spain) are named the most popular destinations this summer among TUI Travel Group clients. Especially for Greece, TUI plans to extend the tourist season until November.
“This season is expected to be especially active, as in recent weeks the number of travelers has exceeded the figure for 2019 for the first time,” Stefan Baumert, head of TUI Germany, said in a statement. According to him, stakeholders made reservations much earlier to ensure better ratesbecause the cost of vacation this year exceeds the figure recorded before the pandemic.
“The interest in travel is so great that in some destinations we had to request extra beds,” he adds.
According to Mr. Baumert, Greece, Mallorca and Turkey will be especially popular with travelers this summer. “Due to increased demand, TUI will extend the season in Greece and make the route available until mid-November,” said the head of TUI Germany.
Moreover, it is emphasized that Traveler preferences have changed since the pandemic: “Citizens don’t compromise on quality, but they choose their final destination carefully. Everyone who used to travel to distant countries is now going to Southern Europe or North Africa.”
Stefan Baumert also assures that this year There will be no repeat of last year’s scenes of chaos at German airports, as the necessary preparations for the additional load have been made. Also, TUI Tuifly has a sufficient number of flight personnel, a fixed flight schedule and 12-13 aircraft in reserve, so that in case of unforeseen situations it would be possible to “close the gaps” without any problems.
