Explosion at the DEI substation: houses and shops without electricity, traffic lights do not work

The explosion that occurred on the morning of Tuesday, May 23 at the substation DEI in Kesariani caused serious problems, as many houses and shops in the area were left without electricity.

There are no traffic lights in the area, as a result of which traffic is hindered. Traffic inspectors arrived at the scene of the accident to regulate the flow of vehicles. The incident took place at the intersection of Formionos Street and Imittos Avenue. Police and firefighters immediately arrived at the scene.

Relevant work has been carried out at the substation since morning. It is expected that they will be completed around 13.00-13.30. As for the causes of the explosion, authorities believe that there was a water leak that reached the substation and caused a short circuit.
