Shock: killed his wife in front of a child, then committed suicide

An incredible tragedy occurred in Stratoniki (Chalkidiki). A 36-year-old man killed his 39-year-old wife and committed suicide in the presence of their minor child.

The couple were found dead in their home at about 11:00 am on Monday May 22 by a relative.

In the same place, their 8-year-old son was found wounded, who was taken to the General Hospital of Thessaloniki “Ippokratio”. As it became known, the shots were fired from a hunting rifle. The publication halkidikinews.gr, which published the news, reports that the child was probably injured by a shrapnel, but his health is currently not in danger. Later, psychologists will take care of the child.

Presumably the head of the family shot his wifeand then pointed the weapon at himself. According to information from law enforcement agencies, the wife had previously appealed to the authorities about domestic violence prevailing in the family.
