Moments of horror were experienced by passengers on the KTEL Ilias bus, when unknown people began to “throw” the vehicle with stones, breaking the windows.
According to ilia.news, the incident took place between 22:00 and 22:30 pm on Friday May 19, when the bus was traveling from Pyrgos to Amaliada. At the height of Duneykon, on a deserted and dark section of the road, 4 blows to the glass were heard, 4 windows of the bus were broken. An eyewitness told local media that he heard “four loud pops that sounded like gunshots.” Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the material damage to the buses was considerable.
The bus driver remained calm and drove the car away from the site of the stone throwers’ attack. The police were then notified and are conducting a preliminary investigation to determine the perpetrators, as well as the motives for the attack.
As you know, the bus belongs to the head of KTEL (πρόεδρο του ΚΤΕΛ Ηλείας). Questions arise as to whether this was a warning to him. Recall that only 2 months ago the fleet “boasted” of its success.
