In Kallithea, a car hit a 12-year-old schoolgirl crossing the road.
According to the information, the traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Spartis and Tesei streets, the girl was taken to the Central State Hospital of Nikiya, where she was pronounced dead. According to preliminary information, the 32-year-old driver of the car was detained.
There was information about a problem with the operation of traffic lights located near the place where the car hit. As recorded by the ANT1 camera, the pedestrian traffic light, on the green signal of which the child crossed the street, works “ambiguously”.
That is, in order for a pedestrian to cross the road, it is not enough to look at the green signal lit, but you still need to check the road for the presence of passing vehiclesV. Some time after the fatal accident, a technical team arrived at the scene and set about adjusting the traffic light.
