The tragedy in Thessaloniki: a mother seriously injured her sleeping 44-year-old son, whom she allegedly mistook for her husband. Doctors assess his condition as very serious.
The 71-year-old woman claims: “I confused him with my husband.” How writes thestival.gr, during an apology to the police, she stated that she accidentally hit him on the head.
The police officers who entered the house found three knives and scissors in the kitchen sink, all items with traces of blood. According to initial information, the woman suffers from severe depression and has recently stopped taking her medications prescribed by her doctor.
The incident took place in the family’s house on Vertiscu Street. The woman slept in the living room with her son. Her husband was sleeping in the bedroom at that time. As soon as she realized what had happened, she immediately called the police and an ambulance.
The case is being investigated by the Department of Crimes Against Life of the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki. The man who suffered from maternal hands is being treated at the Hippocrates hospital in a very serious condition.
