Early in the morning of 04/21/2023, two citizens were arrested by the Attica Direct Action Police Department for fraud and aggravated theft. Their accomplices are on the wanted list, one of whom is charged with attempted murder.
The aforementioned intruders broke into an apartment in Nea Smyrni under the pretext of repairing the elevator, from where they took out a bag with expensive costume jewelry (faux-bijoux) and jewelry. Then they got into the car and left. However, their movements were noticed by a neighbor, who informed the police, the department of Άμεση Δράση.
Immediately after that, law enforcement officers began searching for the criminals. The car was found moving around the Kallithea area. On the signal “stop” received from the traffic officers, the car did not stop. The driver of the vehicle, trying to escape, made a maneuver, trying to ram the car of the patrol service. Their actions were unsuccessful. Jumping out of a stopped car, the attackers decided to escape on foot, but the police managed to grab two of them.
Two detainees while trying to escape were wounded in the legs. In addition, one of the law enforcement officers “got a bullet”.
The police department of Nea Smyrni, which is conducting the relevant preliminary investigation, seized the stolen bag of jewelry. The arrested were taken to the prosecutor’s office.
