The murder of a 46-year-old man, in Drosero Xanthi, sparked a vendetta between two gypsy families, resulting in the killer’s and his brother’s homes being ransacked and burned down on Monday evening.

According to xanthipost.gr on Monday night, having previously robbed the house of a 37-year-old killer in the village, family members of a 46-year-old, burned house, the killers, as well as his brother’s house, then placed video in social networks.
The fire brigade arrived at the scene at around 12 midnight with three vehicles and a strong police force.
According to the local website xanthinea.gron Tuesday, many incidents were recorded in the village with throwing stones at the houses of the killer and his brother, and shots were also heard.
The police, for their part, took action to prevent the feud between the two families from escalating. In total, four people were arrested in connection with the murder.
According to local media, the murder took place after midnight on Sunday (March 19), when four people, a father with two sons and a son-in-law, broke into the victim’s house in a “showdown” over the bride.
According to local residents, the 46-year-old, who was the grandfather of a 15-year-old girl, allegedly violated the contract for the sale for 6000 euros of her as a bride to the 17-year-old son of a 36-year-old.

A few weeks after the engagement of two minors, the 46-year-old grandfather changed his mind and took the bride homebut refused to return the money received. It is reported that the 36-year-old father recently demanded the return of the amount he gave for the bride. Accompanied by his sons and son-in-law, he broke into the victim’s house and, after they broke down the door of the room where the 46-year-old man was sleeping with his wife, son and four minor grandchildren, shot the victim 5 times in the stomach.
The victim with a severe wound was taken to the Xanthi hospital, and after the operation at 5.00 in the morning he died.
The victim’s relatives are furious and say they want revenge. In their posts on social networks, they publish messages threatening the family and daughters of the offender. “Your heart will burn. Videos will come one after another, they will die. The moment you get out of prison, you will be buried next to your daughters,” their TikTok video reads.
The 37-year-old man did not remain in debt and posted a video on Tik-Tok in which he not only repented of his act, but also threatened, saying: “If you harm me, I will kill you all in 40 years.”
He was later arrested by the police, as was one of his sons, and today his other son and son-in-law were detained and arrested.
Police are also considering a scenario in which the perpetrator thought the victim had turned him in to the authorities for some crime he had committed and wanted revenge on him.
According to the Greek police (EL.AS.), a 37-year-old man who had numerous problems with the authorities in the past and was recently detained by the police after a large-scale police operation in Drosero. During a search of his home, weapons and drugs were found.
It is noteworthy that the man, who had drugs and illegal weapons in his house, was released after the arrest, and his arrest, in theory, could have prevented the murder that occurred a few days later. Probably the main reason is that the authorities are afraid to touch the gypsies, whose villages have long turned into a breeding ground for crime.
