Repeated rape victim gets 8.5 years in prison

A British court has sentenced a 22-year-old woman to eight and a half years in prison for accusing several men of brutal rape and sexual exploitation.

As the investigation showed, her accusations turned out to be a sophisticated lie, and even Eleanor Williams inflicted beatings on herself, as experts found, having bought a hammer in a supermarket for this. Both law enforcement officers and doctors did not find out the real reasons why the woman acted in this way and ruined the lives of the accused.

Northwest Cumbria resident Eleanor Williams was found guilty on March 14 of obstruction of justice and lying about multiple rapes and being used as a sex slave by a gang of Asian pimps in British cities and abroad.

In announcing the verdict, the judge called her testimony “complete fiction” and stressed that during the process she did not show any noticeable signs of remorse. Williams continued to maintain her innocence, but expressed regret at how much violence and unrest her statements caused in her hometown:

“I’m not saying that I’m to blame, but I know that I was wrong about some things. I am shocked by the riots that took place in Barrow. If I had known that there would be such consequences, I would never have written my post” .

Three of the men slandered by Williams spoke of suicide attempts and ruined lives due to persecution by her supporters.

Jordan Trengov spent 2.5 months in jail on charges of rape at knifepoint. On the facade of his house appeared the inscription “rapist”.

Mohammed Ramzan, a 43-year-old businessman, received at least 500 death threats and was forced to leave the city. Williams called him in her accusations the leader of a gang that exploited women. The man told the court how terrible persecution began because of Williams’s accusations against his family.

The third man, Oliver Gardner, unfortunately ran into Williams one day on the street and asked her for a light. After she accused him of rape, Gardner was bullied and eventually ended up in a psychiatric clinic for attempting suicide.

Eleanor Williams became instantly famous after she posted several gruesome photos on Facebook in May 2020, in which her face and body were covered with bruises and signs of mutilation, including a partially cut off finger. In her post, Williams wrote that some people, mostly businessmen of Pakistani origin, regularly beat her and force her to attend sex parties.

The information was widely shared on the Internet, and sympathetic activists fighting violence against women founded a campaign called “Justice for Ellie” in support of it. The campaign had 100,000 followers on Facebook from all over the world. Representatives of the campaign even released a line of souvenirs with its symbols – a purple elephant, and protests took place in the UK. Tommy Robinson, the most famous representative of the country’s ultra-right movement, was seen among the participants in the protests. The protesters accused the police of deliberately not investigating the crimes against Williams.

Cumbrian Police spokesman Matthew Pearman says:

“It has been a long, complex and, in fact, tragic investigation, and for the city of Barrow, a dark period of life.”

Police were investigating Williams’ testimony that Mohammad Ramzan allegedly took her to a hotel in Blackpool and forced her to have sex with several men. The police determined that in fact Williams went there herself, rented a hotel room, bought instant noodles and ate them there while watching videos on YouTube.

Law enforcement officers also found six mobile phones from the woman and found that she created profiles on social networks on behalf of men whom she called offenders and published various messages on their behalf.

Matthew Pearman noted the seriousness with which law enforcement officers took Williams’s testimony when she spoke about them, stressing that allegations of sexual and physical violence will always be investigated promptly and fully. He expressed the hope that the case of Williams will not prevent the true victims of violence from saying about him: “You will be heard and supported.”
